Overview
Vidary is a SaaS platform designed to streamline expert discovery and amplify credible journalism. Built in response to the rise of misinformation and fragmented sourcing tools, Vidary needed to become more than a directory—it had to become a trusted network. As the sole UX/UI Product Designer, my challenge was to reimagine the product from the ground up: architecting a user experience that serves two highly distinct audiences - journalists seeking speed and accuracy, and experts seeking visibility and authority. My goal was to create a platform that feels effortless, intelligent, and trustworthy at every touchpoint - whether you’re racing to meet a deadline or showcasing a decade of expertise.

The Challenge
In a digital landscape overloaded with noise, speed often comes at the cost of credibility. Journalists face increasing pressure to verify sources under tight deadlines, while experts struggle to be heard above a sea of self-promotion and unvetted voices. The result? Mistrust, inefficiency, and missed opportunities on both sides. Vidary’s biggest design challenge wasn’t just usability—it was credibility. The platform needed to serve two distinct user groups with very different goals: - Journalists, who need speed, reliability, and immediate access to trusted voices - Experts who want to build visibility and authority in a meaningful way My role was to design an experience that made credibility feel visible, actionable, and intuitive. The platform needed to feel: - Trustworthy to journalists working against the clock - Professional and reputation-safe for experts - Transparent and data-rich—without overwhelming either user group The core design question became: How do you embed trust into every interaction, without slowing anyone down?
Existing platforms tried to connect experts with journalists, but they often felt transactional, incomplete, or difficult to navigate. Users were forced to piece together information from multiple sources - social profiles, personal websites, old directories - just to assess credibility. Vidary needed to eliminate that friction and become a single source of truth: fast, intuitive, and reliable.

To solve for both credibility and usability, I approached the redesign with one clear principle: make trust feel effortless. Every feature, flow, and UI component had to reinforce clarity, reliability, and professional value for both journalists and experts. I designed two tailored experiences within one cohesive system: - AI-Powered Search Engine I restructured the search experience with intelligent filtering and natural language capabilities, helping journalists surface relevant, verified experts faster. - Personalized Content Feed Introduced an AI-curated feed that adapts to journalists' recent searches and interests, surfacing trending news, expert commentary, and relevant events automatically. - Profile Transparency & Trust Signals Designed expert profiles to highlight credentials, affiliations, and past engagements clearly. Verified badge indicators and performance history added instant context and credibility. - Direct Communication & Recommendations Integrated a built-in messaging system and AI suggestions, so journalists can quickly reach out to the right expert without leaving the platform. - Event Participation Added functionality for journalists to discover and attend expert-hosted events, panels, and webinars—expanding their network while staying within the platform.
For Experts — Visibility, Growth, and Impact - Verified, Dynamic Profiles Designed a modular expert profile system that allows for rich content—biography, credentials, publications, media, and more—tailored for journalistic relevance. - Performance Dashboard Built an analytics view where experts can track how often they appear in search, who’s viewing them, and what actions are being taken, offering clarity and motivation. - Weekly Search Trend Insights Added a feature that surfaces the week’s most searched topics by journalists, helping experts stay aligned with media interest. - Event Creation & Networking Tools Enabled experts to host events directly on the platform, helping them demonstrate authority and meet relevant media contacts. - Profile Boosting & AI Optimization Introduced tools for experts to boost visibility and receive AI-powered suggestions to improve their profiles, ensuring better alignment with journalist needs.
